Comments: Boulder consisting of prehenite, diaspore, chlorite and niigataite. The pale lavender is prehenite/diaspore and the very pale green is chlorite/niigataite..
Location: Itoigawa, river Kazuo, Niigata prefecture, Japan. Scale: Specimen size 19cm x 16 cm.

Comments: Backscatter electronic image of niigataite (bright) which is partially replacing a chlorite (med gray) grain in a diaspore (dark gray, rod-shaped) and prehenite (light gray) matrix.
