Aeschynite-(Ce): (Ce,Ca,Fe)(Ti,Nb)2(O,OH)6

Comments: Prismatic crystals of Aeschynite-(Ce). Crystals were mined in 1911-1912 during works of Alexandr E. Fersman's Radium Expedition on the mine. Measured radioactivity is 183 µR/h.
Location: Blyumovskaya Pit (Blum Pit; Pit No. 50), Ilmen Natural Reserve, Ilmen Mts, Chelyabinsk Oblast', Southern Urals, Urals Region, Russia. Scale: Largest crystal size is 28x16x8 mm.

Comments: Brown cm-size britholite-(Y) grains with typical prismatic 'apatite' outline in quartz matrix with black magnetite. Tengerite-(Y) forms the white encrustation in upper right part of the photo.

Comments: Flesh-coloured simpsonite (blue scheelite-like UV luminescention) crystal partially replaced with grey cesstibtantite (orange UV luminescention)..

Comments: Flesh-coloured simpsonite (blue scheelite-like UV luminescention) crystal partially replaced with grey cesstibtantite (orange UV luminescention)..
Location: Vasin-Myl'k Mt, Voron'i Tundry, Kola Peninsula, Murmanskaja Oblast', Northern Region, Russia. Scale: Specimen size is 6x5x2 cm.

Comments: Yellow, powdery coating of chromatite over carbonate rock. Associated minerals in the crust are halite and fluorapatite.

Comments: B&W SEM image showing large grains of daqingshanite-(Ce) (light-grey) in carbonate matrix (dark-grey). Associated mineral is monazite-(Ce), which form small very bright grains, partialy replacing daqingshanite-(Ce).
